Educational Grants
During 2009, FPD continued to support efforts to promote access to education through securing educational grants from sponsors and donors for a number of potential FPD students. The funding, grants and sponsorships are utilized in the form of a subsidy to enroll potential students, which reduces the role played by costs as a barrier to education.
During 2009, a total of R22 047 185 was awarded to FPD students in the form of educational grants and sponsorships. This brings the total monetary value of scholarships awarded since 1998 to R86 449 111.
