Clinical Management of Rheumatology Short Course - Contact Tuition

Interests: Rheumatology / Management / Clinical Management

Rheumatology services are limited or non-existent in many parts of sub-Saharan Africa. Furthermore, basic diagnostic tests are mostly unavailable or not affordable. Urbanisation has led to an increase in the prevalence of gout, rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus and scleroderma over the past 4 decades (Mody, GM 2017)

There is a severe shortage of physicians in Africa, future growth of rheumatology services will therefore depend on the training and support of general practitioners and medical officers in the diagnosis, treatment and care of rheumatological conditions.

This course will equip practitioners with the knowledge to adequately recognise and manage common rheumatological conditions.
