Short Course in Practical Stress Management - E-learning

Interests: Stress / Management

Introduction

Stress, or rather distress, is an insidious challenge affecting all of us. This basic survival response is part of all life on earth, affecting human life from grassroots level to the boardroom, from learners in school or tertiary institutions, to the leaders of a country. Often, the people who experience most distress, are poorly equipped to deal with it. This course is therefore suitable for anyone interested in learning and experiencing the inner calm that can be learnt and cultivated, until it becomes the new default coping mechanism, an essential life resilience skill. For health care practitioners, it has a double benefit: stress and relaxation training for oneself, and also paying it forward to clients and patients.

Work related, personal, financial, or relationship stress (or rather distress) have an impact on all of us. In the workplace it negatively affects employee morale, productivity and sick leave. Stress management, including how to manage our day-to-day stresses and strains, is an important life skill that anyone can learn. Stress management is of the utmost importance to maintain health and wellbeing and restore a sense of serenity and peace while maintaining creative, productive, high profile lifestyles
