Making the correct diagnosis in the management and treatment of patients remains a top priority for any health practitioner. Ultrasound plays a crucial part in the clinical diagnosis. It contributes to confirm a suspected pathology rapidly. The overall aim of this course is to give you the advantage and knowledge when it comes to upper abdominal ultrasound. To be able to perform a pelvic ultrasound exam one needs to understand both transvaginal and transabdominal techniques, as well as the common pelvic abnormalities that may be encountered while performing a scan.
This course is appropriate for , sonographers, radiographers, midwives and general practitioners. Delegates should have a medical qualification and have access to an ultrasound scanner to improve upon their ultrasound skills.

After completing this course participants will be able to:
Accredited according to the HPCSA CPD Guidelines for Health Professionals -November 2006, for 30 CEUs on level 2.
To qualify for the certificate of completion, delegates have to complete and pass the online course content as well as successfully complete the hands-on assessment process.
Participants will be assessed through an online multiple questionnaire and short questions as well as practical competency assessment
