Some respiratory diseases slow the speed of expired air; others reduce the volume of air that can be inspired and then exhaled. To detect these impairments, Spirometry is the most common type of pulmonary function test used. The FPD Spirometry short course prepare the Healthcare Professional for the challenges of testing and screening. The course complies with the SAQA Unit Standard 252125 to screen and evaluate respiratory health of workers for their ability to perform certain tasks or detect impairment in the Occupational Health setting.

Accredited according to the HPCSA CPD Guidelines for Health Professionals - for a total of 21 clinical points on Level 2.
To qualify for the certi?cate of competence, participants should attend the workshop, complete the theoretical and practical assessment and successfully complete a Portfolio of Evidence.
A matric/grade 12 certi?cate or equivalent quali?cation. Booking is essential.
