Introduction

Participants are required to complete this programme within a year.

Accreditation

Accredited according to the HPCSA’s Medical and Dental Board Guidelines for Health Care Professionals for 30 CEU’s on Level 2.

Certification

Assessment

Participants are assessed on the self-study component of the course through means of a multiple-choice questionnaire. These will be submitted to the Foundation for Professional Development for assessment.

Distance education through a comprehensive self-study guide developed by leading experts in the field.

  • Chapter 2: Epidemiology and control of tuberculosis
  • Chapter 3: The DOTS strategy and tuberculosis control programme
  • Chapter 4: Diagnosis of tuberculosis
  • Chapter 5: Tuberculosis treatment
  • Chapter 6: Tuberculosis and HIV
  • Chapter 7: Multidrug-resistant tuberculosis
  • Chapter 8: Tuberculosis in children
  • Chapter 9: Non-tuberculosis mycobacteria
  • Chapter 10: Infection control and prevention
  • Study material will be received at the workshop.
