Overview:

The 5th African Nursing Conference was held on 30–31 July 2025 at the Birchwood Hotel & OR Tambo Conference Centre in Boksburg, South Africa. Chaired by Dr Tracey De Klerk and co-chaired by Dr Sharon Vasuthevan, the conference brought together nurses, educators, researchers, policymakers, and health system stakeholders from across Africa under the theme “Empowering Nurses as Catalysts for Health Equity.”

Key Highlights and Achievements

• Engaged high-level leadership, including government officials, to strengthen partnerships and support nurse-led initiatives.

The conference reinforced the central role of nursing leadership in building equitable, inclusive, and resilient health systems while fostering continental collaboration and professional growth.
