Introduction

Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) is a structured, ongoing approach that helps organizations enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and customer satisfaction. By systematically analysing processes, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing data-driven solutions, CQI fosters a culture of innovation and excellence.

Certification

The Foundation for Professional Development will award the participants with a Certificate of Completion once participants have attended the workshop for this short course, completed the assessment and attained the required pass mark.

Course Content

The study material will cover the following modules:

  • Identify the key dimensions of quality health care and explain their relevance to the Voluntary Medical Male Circumcision (VMMC) programme.
  • Describe the core principles of Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Improvement (QI) and analyze their relationship in the context of VMMC.
  • Define Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) and its role in enhancing health care services.
  • Explain the purpose and significance of CQI in improving outcomes within the VMMC programme.
  • Describe the four key steps of the CQI process and how they are applied in VMMC.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of how measurement and data support CQI initiatives and decision-making.
  • Develop a SMART aim statement and formulate a SMART indicator to track progress in quality improvement efforts.

Course Design

The programme will be a combination of the following learning interventions:

  • This course is a classroom course, and participants will receive a comprehensive and user-friendly study guide developed by experts in the field covering all the modules. The course is offered using participatory methods and building on shared knowledge with the participants.
