Introduction

Assessment skills underpin many training-related qualifications and skills programmes and are strongly linked to employability. These skills equip individuals to evaluate performance and provide constructive, professional feedback. The purpose of this Skills Programme is to build competencies for individuals who are interested in using assessment tools to support and enhance learning.

Duration

Participants are required to complete this course within 3 months from date of registration.

Certification

On the successful completion of ALL modules and associated assessments that make up this Skills Programme, learners will be required to write a Final Integrated Summative Assessment (FISA) in order to achieve competence. The FISA will be a practical written assessment integrating the relevant Exit Level Outcomes of the Skills Programme. On successful completion of the FISA, a Certificate will be awarded.

Course Content

This programme is made up of the following modules:

  • KNOWLEDGE MODULES: 242401001-KM-05, Assessment principles and practices, NQF Level 5, Credits 4.
  • PRACTICAL SKILLS MODULES: 242401001-PM-06, Plan and conduct the assessment of learner competencies, NQF Level 5, Credits 8.
  • WORK EXPERIENCE MODULES: 242401001-WM-06, Conduct assessments of learner competence, NQF Level 5, Credits 8.

Course Design

This programme will be presented via blended learning. Learners will be expected to work through the online content and attend contact sessions during which both Knowledge and Practical Skills Components will be covered.
