How to Get Back into a Routine

Published 13 September 2023

After a good break it is not always easy to return to work. You might still be mentally on vacation or feeling tired after your trip (often depending on how you travelled). Here are a few helpful tips to get you back into routine and working at the best of your ability:

Take a day off: It is not always easy returning to work the day after a vacation. You might feel jetlagged or still tired from your trip so if you are able, take an extra day to recover and get back into your routine mentally and physically.

Visit the chiropractor: It is fun to travel, but traveling can be a hassle. Your body may become sore from uncomfortable plane rides, lengthy car excursions, or a lot of walking. Thankfully, a chiropractor can relieve sore joints. Make an appointment during the days you are resting or just before returning to work.

Get enough sleep in: Too frequently, the value of sleep is overlooked, and it is only when we are excessively irritable, moody, worn out, or burned out that we start to wonder what is wrong with us. Increasing the amount and quality of sleep to help counteract this fatigue.

Start eating healthy: You might feel sluggish and tired after returning from a vacation. You most likely indulged in delicious festive meals and snacks. Now that you are back at work, following a balanced diet and drinking lots of water provides you with the fuel to thrive through the day.

Start Exercising: Exercise is a wonderful cure for post-vacation sluggishness. Choose your favorite joyful movement activity, get moving, and sweat out any remaining traces of jet lag or bad aircraft cuisine. It will benefit your mental and physical health.
