Foundation for Professional Development’s (FPD) Operations Cluster

The Operations Cluster at the Foundation for Professional Development (FPD) plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth functioning and compliance of the organization, both internally and externally. This cluster supports various activities within FPD and its subsidiaries by providing essential services such as financial management, strategic information, and human resources administration. Additionally, the Operations Cluster oversees the outsourcing of selected services to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Proposal Support Team

The Proposal Support Team is integral to FPD’s ability to identify and secure new opportunities. This unit is responsible for identifying, coordinating, and submitting tenders and proposals to various agencies, government entities, and donors, both locally and internationally. By diversifying FPD’s sources of revenue and workflow, the Proposal Support Team ensures sustainability and continuous growth. Key functions include:

  • Overall project management of the proposal development process.
  • Administrative support during the proposal writing process.
  • Reducing staff workload by assisting with research, proofreading, and editing.
  • Providing templates and examples of well-written proposals.
  • Submitting final, professionally presented proposals on behalf of FPD.

Strategic Information Unit (SIU)

The Strategic Information Unit (SIU) is responsible for developing all FPD software solutions, including website development and updates, conference applications, GIS maps, database development, REDCap management, and AI opportunities identification and training. SIU activities are divided into two categories:
  • Projects for larger development activities.
  • Tickets for managing routine SIU requests that generally take less than two weeks to complete.

The FPD IT Unit, as part of the SIU, is instrumental in providing excellence in all areas of Information Technologies. This unit is responsible for establishing IT policy and planning, IT procurement and contracts, and providing the computing and telecommunications infrastructure for all information systems technologies associated with FPD. The unit facilitates cost-effective IT and telecommunication solutions that can be shared with all FPD branches.

Finance Department

FPD’s Finance Department supports and manages the financial resources of the company and various partners. The department ensures compliance with international standards and large donor requirements, including PEPFAR, USAID, CDC, NIH, GlobalFund, and the KFW Development Bank. The strength of the finance department is evidenced by unqualified audit reports since inception and clean donor audit reports. Services offered include consulting, full financial management, and payroll services to various partner organizations and selected outsourced clients.

Human Resources Administration (HRA)

The Human Resources Administration (HRA) department manages the recruitment and onboarding processes for all new employees and administers the offboarding process. The HRA is responsible for ensuring compliance with Labour Law and the Basic Conditions of Employment Act (BCEA).
